Our History
Alpha Laser Health Center was one of the first in North America to offer laser treatment for nicotine and drug addiction. The founder of the center, Mr. George Lucio opened the doors back in 1986 as the Alpha Life Style Center which offered advanced therapies to help people stop smoking and overcome dependencies to alcohol and drugs. The programs were truly one of a kind. As the popularity of the programs grew the name slowly transformed as clients referred to us as Alpha Laser. Below Mr. Lucio recalls the events that caused his protocols to take the world by storm;
“Once the protocols were proving themselves and word began to spread I needed help. At that time my youngest daughter Jody Lynn came on board, she was studying Psychology at the local University and I thought she may be up to the challenge. The two of us expanded into a 500 square foot office. She would answer phones, schedule appointments, send out information and I did the therapy. We knew we were onto something very big. Our clients were sending their friends and family members. Everyone loved the results. Drug/alcohol addiction, tobacco, stress, weight loss, we developed and researched all types of programs that added to the clinic. We were working on a 10 to 1 referral rate. Soon we had more people than we could accommodate. My daughter became a certified hypnotherapist, a registered nutritional counselor, along with studying under me as a laser therapist. She became an outstanding laser therapist in her own right.”
“More staff was needed in a very short period of time. We moved to a 1,500 square foot clinic with 3 treatment rooms that could accommodate 40 people per day. Soon word of our clients successes spread across the border into the United States, where they never heard of laser therapy. People from all over the U.S. began to come in droves to our Windsor clinic. The FOX news network heard about our clinic and asked if they could visit us and do a story of interest. We knew that the media would be critical, and if they were coming on a witch hunt we were ready with having more than 25,000 people that had been treated and over a thousand personal testimonials from grateful clients. They came they saw, they asked questions, we had the answers. They found us to be real and were amazed when talking to our previous clients that we had treated.”
“The results were a local FOX network new release about our clinic and this amazing technology. The phone lines didn’t quit, our voicemail was full. We had people coming into the clinic to book and ask questions since they couldn’t make it through on the phone lines. Our receptionist pleaded for help, she couldn’t service all the calls with all the chaos. “The next day, I received a frantic call from her, she explained calls were coming in from Texas, California, all parts of the U.S. How could this be I thought, all of these people could not have been in Detroit to catch the news story. I called FOX to inquire and they told me that the story got such a great response that they decided to put it through the entire FOX network and gave out our 800 number hoping we wouldn’t mind. Within four days we were booked 8 months in advance with no end in sight. More staff was hired and longer hours were worked. In two years we had it under control.”
“As with all good things the word got out and we were now very high profile. Health care people were calling and wanted to be trained in our method. From that sprang the Matrix Institute of Laser Therapy which to this day has been fortunate to have trained many medical and health care professionals throughout the world in laser therapy. It also allowed us the freedom to develop new methods of therapy for a variety of conditions.”
Today George and Jody continue training in their original programs as well as the wide range of treatments they have created to help those suffering from Gambling Addiction, Insomnia, Attention Deficit Disorder, and many more issues.
